Wex Photo Video is the UK’s largest online specialist in photography and videography equipment. It is known for its exceptional customer service, extensive new and second-hand product selections, rentals, and professional repairs. While an online retailer, Wex Photo Video also has many stores located in the UK, with flagships in London and Glasgow.

What We Did.
Starting with no presence on this platform, we worked with Wex to ensure all branding posted was consistent with their existing social media channels. We were tasked with content creation as well as building Wex’s organic social media channels to drive brand awareness alongside TikTok ads and TikTok Shop to drive sales.
Balancing TikTok’s preference for UGC-style content vs. Wex’s core identity of high-production visual content, we took the opportunity to educate and entertain through our content creation and strategy. During this, we discovered that many engaged followers were coming to Wex’s TikTok for advice and guidance, proving the effectiveness of value-driven, lighthearted content in our organic strategy.
To create the content, we worked hand-in-hand with Wex’s in-house London team, collaborating on ideas and shooting content in their London store. This resulted in videos which resonated with the target audience, helping build awareness and grow the new channel.
We also implemented strategies that utilised TikTok ads and the TikTok Shop, experimenting with various formats, including catalogue campaigns, remarketing, reach, and traffic. As a result of continuous testing, we found Dynamic Product Ads worked the best lower down the funnel as part of our advertising strategy, whilst upper funnel content, we saw unboxing videos as the most successful. A Canon Unboxing ad produced by the TGM team resulted in over £12,000 worth of sales and a ROAS of over 18.0.
Over the course of 10 months we have;
- Implemented a remarketing catalogue campaign, which drove 28.58 average ROAS
- Successfully tested upper funnel targeting to deliver £88,000 in sales from interests like Sony & Canon, as well as generic interests like Photography Equipment
- Shot & edited regular viral videos, including a Canon Unboxing video, which achieved over 225,000 views organically.
